YEREVAN, July 27 — A novel on the Armenian Genocide «The Sandcastle Girls» nu Chric Bohjalian is included in New York Times Best-Seller List, reports the Armenian Weekly.
The Sandcastle Girls was announced the must-read Book of the Week. “The overwhelming and well-deserved praise for Bohjalian’s masterful literary piece about the Armenian Genocide in prominent mainstream American media outlets, such as Oprah’s Blog, highlights the powerful role that his novel is playing in educating readers about this crime, and Turkey’s ongoing denial of both truth and justice,” Armenian Weekly is citing Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) Executive Director Aram Hamparian as saying.
The novel has received stellar reviews from dozens on publications nationwide, including the Washington Post, USA Today, the Boston Globe, the Associated Press, Library Journal, Publishers Weekly, Booklist, Kirkus Reviews, Entertainment Weekly, and People Magazine.
50-year-old Bohjalian is a popular writer in the United States. His works «Secret of Eden», «Midwives», «The Law of Similiars» and others are best-sellers in the USA.
