Leaders Of St. Peterburg And Yerevan To Bring Bilateral Relations To A New Level

YEREVAN, November 30 – Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko and Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan will bring bilateral relations between the two cities to a new level, representative of St. Petersburg Committee for Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade, Tatyana Timofeeva said in Yerevan today.
“Both cities have new leaders who would like to give a new impetus to the development of relations,” she noted.
Timofeeva also noted that besides trade and economic relations, Russia is also interested in the development of tourism.
During the meeting Tatyana Timofeeva also added that the trade turnover between St. Petersburg and the Republic of Armenia in 2010 totaled over $16 million, and the import from St. Petersburg to Armenia reached $5.5 million.
The Russian side is going to hold Days of St. Petersburg in Yerevan in April 2012. In the framework of the event the best theaters will visit Yerevan.
