YEREVAN, September 23 — The Mayor of Yerevan Karen Karapetyan met with the delegation of Chinese “Huawei Technologies” and discussed issues on the “safe city” concept. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia Armen Yeritsyan, the press service of the Armenian municipality reports.

Attaching importance to the “safe city” system, the Armenian Mayor noted that the condition of modern innovations makes new possibilities to create a more efficient and controllable management of a number of areas.

The Mayor also added that the concerning departments also show interest in the concept.

The Chinese side presented the main directions of the “Huawei Technologies” company and work experience in different countries and noted that the company has a leading position in the sphere of client service and carried out a number of successful projects.

During the meeting the structure of “safe city” concept on modern communication equipment for integrated information systems was presented.

“Huawei Technologies” director in the CIS countries welcomed the initiative by the municipality and noted that the company is ready to discuss projects of mutual interest. The sides agreed to form working groups to implement the system.

The two sides reached an agreement to implement the concept system during the meeting in Beijing in July.

“Huawei Technologies” is the world’s largest information technology company providing specialized services.
