Composer Sedrak Yerkanyan’s Work to be Celebrated
Nov 24th, 2009 | Category: Arts & CultureYEREVAN (PanARMENIAN.Net)–On November 28, Komitas’ Chamber Music Hall will host the celebration of pianist, composer and conductor Sedrak Yerkanyan’s 50th jubilee, as well as the 40th anniversary of his creative work and the 15th anniversary of his work with the Tagharan Early Music Ensemble.
The jubilee concert will feature Sedrak Yerkanyan’s composition, “Ancient Armenian wedding songs: 2nd volume.”
According to the composer, Armenian wedding songs were based on the principles of ancient Armenian music composition as well as song preservation by Komitas Vartabed.
National Armenian music fans are invited to visit. Admission to the concert will be free.
