 Armenian Chess Players in 3th and 4th Places at FIDE Womens Grand Prix

YEREVAN, June 29 —The 4th tournament of FIDE Women’s Grand Prix is being held in Jermuk, Armenia until July 5. The tournament officially started on June 24.

Twelve players are taking part in the tournament: Nana Dzagnidze (Georgia), Tatiana Kosintseva (Russia), Lilit Mkrtchian (Armenia), Elina Danielian (Armenia), Maia Chiburdanidze (Georgia), Hou Yifan (China), Shen Yang (China), Antoaneta Stefanova (Bulgaria), Xu Yuhua (China), Pia Cramling (Sweden), Baira Kovanova (Russia) and Martha Fierro (Ecuador).

Yesterday, at the close of the fifth round match Nana Dzagnidze of Georgia won against Fierro, and now she is in the first place, with 4.5 points.

Tatiana Kosintseva from Russia is currently in the second place. In the fifth round she won the game with Chiburdanidze and now has 4 points .

Lilit Mkrtchyan and Antoaneta Stefanova from Bulgaria played the longest game of the round, which ended with Mkrtchyan in victory. Mkrtchyan is in the third place now, with 3.5 points.

The other Armenian chess player, Elina Danielian, played a draw with Hou Yifan from China and is currently in fourth place.

According to the official site of the tournament, the sixth round is going to take place today.
