Armenia an ‘Important Partner’ for US

YEREVAN (Novosti-Armenia), May 15–Armenia is an important partner for the United States and the US administration means to continue cooperation with Armenia, Tina Kaidanow, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs said during her meeting with the Armenian minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian.

According to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kaidanow said, “The United States hopes to continue cooperation with Armenia in establishing stability, stimulating economic development and in carrying out reforms.”

Welcoming the guest, the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs said that Armenia gives importance to the development of multilateral relations with the US and to strengthening partnership and cooperation. He also mentioned that President Serge Sarkisian’s April visit to the US and his meeting with President Barack Obama stimulated the development of bilateral relations.

Nalbandian and Kaidanow also held a thorough discussion on the prospects of expanding US-Armenian relations. They also touched upon the problem of the settlement of Armenian-Turkish relations and discussed the latest developments in negotiations for the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
