Erdogan: Armenian Community Is Turkey’s Wealth
Nov 12th, 2010 | Category: PoliticsYEREVAN, November 12 — During the interview with the newspaper “Zhamanak” — the oldest Armenian daily in Turkey — Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the community of Armenians in Turkey is the country’s wealth.
“I keep on track of the Armenian community’s efforts aimed at reaching peace and stability,” said Erdogan.
During the interview Erdogan also stated that Turkey entered a stage of new relations with all the countries after the World War I, and expressed hope that it would also refer to the Republic of Armenia.
“I’m sure it is possible for the Turkish Armenian relations to move forward, and the historians and scientists should study history. The attitude of some representatives of the Armenian Diaspora is different, which leads the process to deadlock,” stressed Erdogan.
