Armenian Army Stronger Than Ever, Says Yesayan
May 10th, 2010 | Category: PoliticsYEREVAN (Combined Sources), May 10—The acting Chairman of the Veterans’ Union of Armenia Simon Yesayan says that today’s army is much stronger than it was many years ago, at the time of the liberation of Shushi.
“In recent years, Azerbaijan often spoke about a new war, but I can tell you that at the moment the Armenian army is several times stronger than it was at the time of the triumphant liberation of Shushi,” he said. He added that the Armenian army has a predominant place in a number of CIS countries.
Yesayan says that Armenia will never start a new war with Azerbaijan. “We Armenians don’t like wars, since any war brings only destruction.” But, according to Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian, any encroachment towards Armenia will get a deserving rebuff.
“If Azerbaijan makes an attempt, be sure, the next border of Armenia can become Kura,” concluded Simon Yesayan.
