Sep 9th, 2010 | Category: EconomyYEREVAN, September 09–Economic and trade relations between the Republic of Armenia and Bulgaria have a great potential for development, Alexander Tsvetkov — the Minister of Transport, IT and Communications of Bulgaria — told the Armenian journalists on Thursday.
In 2009, the commodity circulation between Armenia and Bulgaria made up $147 million. During the first six months of 2010, this indicator grew up to $125 million.
The Bulgarian Minister came to Armenia to take part in the sixth session of Armenian-Bulgarian intergovernmental commission that is taking place today, in Yerevan.
“The cooperation of our countries has a great potential. And we gathered here, within the framework of the Armenian-Bulgarian intergovernmental commission meeting, to find ways for a greater development in the spheres of economy, transportation and culture,” said the Bulgarian Minister of Transport.
Tsvetkov also said that, being a Minister of Transport, he’s especially interested in the development of cooperation in the field of transportation, since transport is what helps to improve relationships.
He also noted that the railway Iran-Armenia also has a big importance for the development of relations between Armenia and Bulgaria.
“Any improvement in the transport sector is important for Bulgaria. Two-sided and multi-sided agreements unite us with Armenia, and all the methods that will improve our relationship and communications should be discussed,” Tsvetkov said.
