YEREVAN (Novosti Armenia), April 10–Armenian weightlifter Tigran Martirosian became champion in the European Weightlifting Championship held in Minsk.

The press service of the Armenian Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports stated that Martirosian lifted 165kg in the snatch, registering the best result in his weight class. Besides, he distinguished himself in the jerk (195kg), paving his way to first place.

The total result of Tigran Martirosian was 360kg. He is also the bronze medalist of the Olympic games and the world vice-champion.

The Armenian national team has already two gold medals. The first one belongs to Smbat Margarian who was in the up to 56kg weight class.
