Center for Innovation Cooperation in CIS to Open in Yerevan

YEREVAN (Novosti-Armenia), April 9—The Armenian government approved the memorandum between the Ministry of Economy of Armenia and Rossotrudnichestvo (Russian cooperation) on opening a Russian-Armenian Innovation Cooperation Center in Armenia.

“The center will be open on April 15-17. Thus, Armenia will by the first country on the post-Soviet territory that will have such an innovation center,” said the Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan at the government meeting.

He said that the center will be created on the basis of Rossotrudnichestvo in Armenia and will provide various consultations in the field of innovative technologies. It will also develop projects, seek funding sources, partners and investors.

The minister also added that the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, the Russian Research Center “Kurchatov Institute,” the Russian Academy of Sciences, Rosnano, several large Russian and Armenian companies, the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia and a number of Armenian science research institutes have already become partners of the Center.
