YEREVAN, September 3–From January to July, 41,470 carats of diamonds were processed in the Republic of Armenia, which is 59 percent (or 15,392) carats more than in the same period in 2009 (26,078 carats). According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, 7,242 carats of diamonds were produced in July alone.

At the same time, only 240.6 kg of jewelry was produced in the same period, which is about 53.8 percent (or 280 kg) less than it was in 2009.
