The building of the orphanage was completely renovated through the funding of the Kyurkchian family from London, in memory of George Kyurkchian and their daughter Marina Kyurkchian.

The opening of the orphanage is another important initiative among the social programs of the Armenian Apostolic Church. The orphanage is designed to house 42 orphans and children from poor families, who will be educated in one of the schools of Holy Ejmiadzin. They will also attend child and youth centers (Hayordac Tun) in Ejmiadzin.

The Kyurkchians also undertook additional funding of the orphanage. The opening ceremony was attended by John Kyurkchian, his family, the family members of late George Kyurkchian and members of the Supreme Spiritual Council.
