YEREVAN, September 1 — On August 31 the Armenian President Serge Sarkisian had a meeting with Armenian school children, among them were medalists, laureates of various international Olympiads and winners of the international mathematical competition Kangaroo.

During the meeting Sarkisian mentioned three main qualities that each Armenian president should possess.

“I think that the President of the Republic of Armenia must first of all love his country, his people. Secondly, the interests of his country must be above all. Thirdly, each president in a country like Armenia and many other countries, must work day and night, he said.

Sarkisian congratulated the 2009-2010 medalists of comprehensive schools and the winners of international Olympiads on their striking educational results and wished them further success.

He thanked the children for their patriotism, as, according to him, obtaining knowledge and learning well is patriotism in itself. “Each person obtains knowledge for himself, but uses it for the sake of his native country and for the sake of the public,” he said.

“You are our pride, and without you and children like you, it is impossible to establish a strong country and a good public,” Sarkisian said.
