Adoption Of The Resolution On The Armenian Genocide Proves The Devotion Of The American People To Universal Values Nalbandian Praises Vote On Armenian Genocide Resolution The Armenian Genocide Proves The Devotion Of The American People To Universal Values" width="262" height="161" />YEREVAN (Novosti-Armenia), March 05—The Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian said that the adoption of the Resolution on the Armenian Genocide by the US Congress Foreign Affairs Committee is a testament to the American people’s devotion to universal values, the Armenian TV channel Yerkir Media reports.

On March 4, the House Foreign Affairs Committee adopted a resolution on recognizing the Armenian Genocide. Twenty three congressmen voted for the adoption of the document, and 22 against.

“We highly appreciate the adoption of the Resolution 252 regarding the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US Congress. This is additional proof of the devotion of the American people to universal human values, and this is an important step toward the prevention of the crimes against humanity,” said Nalbandian in an interview with CNN.

Resolution 252 consists of 30 points and calls upon President Obama to undertake efforts for addressing matters that relate to human rights and freedoms, ethnic cleansing and the genocide of Armenians. Also, the Congressmen called upon the president to officially recognize the Armenian Genocide.
