YEREVAN, August 24–More than 21,000 babies were born in the Republic of Armenia as of July 1, which is 7.1 percent more than in the same period of 2009.

Most of the babies (7,300) were born in the capital of Armenia, Yerevan. The Armavir region was in second place with 1,856 births.
