Placido Domingo to Take Part in Armenian Music Festival Placido Domingo to Take Part in Armenian Music FestivalYEREVAN (ARKA), February 26—The famous Spanish tenor Placido Domingo will come to Armenia to take part in the 11th International Festival “21st Century Perspectives.”

As the Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan said on Thursday, many internationally famous singers and music bands will take part in this festival that will take place in 2010 in Yerevan.

Such musicians as the famous violinist Pinkas Zukerman, the Borodin String Quartet, the musicians of the London Symphony Orchestra are also expected to take part in the festival, informs the press service of the government.

The Armenian government made a decision to grant the public organization “Modern Armenian Music Center” 40 million dram ($105,000) to help organize the concerts of the festival.

The Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sarkisian said that this festival is held under the high patronage of the Armenian president.

“Thanks to this festival, music lovers in Armenia will get a unique opportunity to listen to high-level classical music,” he said.
