YEREVAN (Hetq), February 26—The Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE), as well as the Ministry of Regional Government and a number of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) companies have launched in the regions an exit fair-exhibition, called “DigiTec on Wheels.”
Under the program, the participating companies will visit the urban communities, stopping and making exhibitions in each of them on a single working day.
On March 3-4, the program will also be held in the Aragatsotn region, particularly in Ashtarak and Aparan. “Every year we held the DigiTec expositions in Yerevan. It is the biggest exhibition in the area. This time we have decided to expand the scope and hold similar exhibitions in the regions as well,” said Levon Petrosyan, the UITE events program manager.
According to him, the first pilot project of the regional fair-exhibition was held in Charentsavan, Dilijan, Hrazdan, Ijevan and Sevan in December.
Accounting the previous regional exhibitions, the organizers have concluded that the biggest problem in the regions is the lack of IT awareness. Furthermore, the market there is not saturated.
“We found that the Yerevan companies have been slow to extend there activities in the regions. Their desire is not too great, but our goal is to promote IT dissemination and awareness in the regions” Levon Petrosyan said.
Visitors to the exhibition, including factories of Aragatsotn region, NGO representatives, government employees, students and others, will get acquainted with ICT development and dissemination. They will also become aware of the geographic expansion of consumption of goods and services of the companies, as well as the development of ICT education.
At the fair-exhibition they will have a chance to exhibit and sell their goods. There will be also organized informative seminars, trainings and classes. After Aparan, the next stop of the exit exhibition will be Spitak and Vanadzor.
