Aronyan Took The Third Place In The Chess Super-Tournament In LinaresYEREVAN (Novosti-Armenia), February 25—The Armenian GM Levon Aronyan took third place in the chess super-tournament in Linares (Spain) that ended on Thursday, reports the official website of the tournament.

In the last 10th round Aronyan, playing with the white pieces, defeated Vugar Gashimov (Azerbaijan) and had his first victory in the tournament. The other nine games played by Aronyan ended in a draw.

The Bulgarian chess player Veselin Topalov won the game against Boris Gelfand (Israel) and became the winner of the tournament.

The game between Francisco Vallejo (Spain) and Alexander Grischuk (Russia) ended in a draw.
