Orange Plans to Bring iPhone to Armenia

orange plans to introduce IPhone in the Armenian marketYEREVAN (ARKA), February 4–On Wednesday Bruno Dyutua, General Director of Orange said that the company plans to bring the Apple iPhone to the Armenian market.

“Our plans have not changed and very soon you will see the iPhone in the Armenian market, but I cannot tell the exact date. It will be a surprise for our subscribers,” Dyutua said.

The sale of the iPhone is believed to start sometime in the beginning of 2010. The iPhone 3GS is already being advertised on the Orange Armenia Web site.

Orange Armenia is an affiliate of France Telecom (Orange). It received a license for the provision of mobile connection services in Armenia on November 19, 2008. Orange Armenia offers 83 percent area coverage in the country, providing mobile phone access and wireless Internet in 500 cities and villages. The company offers 2.5G and 3G network services.
