EIF and YSU To Establish Armenian-Indian IT Center

Fund Incubator of enterprises and YSU signed a contract on cooperation in the frames of the program of establishment of Armenian-Indian center of itYEREVAN (ARKA)–On Monday, Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) and Yerevan State University (YSU) signed a contract on cooperation in the frames of the program “On establishment of Armenian-Indian Center of Superiority of information and telecommunication technologies between the governments of Armenia and India.”

The contract was signed by Bagrat Yengibaryan, Chairman of the Board of EIF, Nerses Yeritsyan, Minister of Economy and Aram Simonyan, Rector of YSU.

The center is targeted at the assistance to Armenia in the development of IT technologies and the formulation of newly created organizations for the training of tutors of YSU and other universities, students, and specialists of IT companies operating in Armenia. It will also organize the conduction of certification courses.

“As a scientific-educational center, our university is very interested in the establishment of the center,” said Simonyan.

YSU will focus on the activity of the center and expect assistance from the interested parties. YSU considers the center necessary for Armenian society and the state to help training students and tutors.

Yeritsyan emphasized the importance of establishing relations between the university and the industry. The given program was tested in authoritative international programs which will provide investment interest in case of its successful implementation.

“With the right organization policy, Armenia will have growth in the IT sphere,” said Yeritsyan.

Armenian and Indian companies have opportunities of entering world IT markets. EIF is responsible for the implementation of this project with the Center of Leading Calculation Developments (C-DAC) from the Indian side.

The first courses are planned to start in September 2010. For the conduction of courses, trainers will pass a six-month training program in India.
