Apartments in Yerevan Increased by 1.3 Percent in January-June

YEREVAN, August 23– In January-June the average market prices for apartments in Yerevan increased by 1.3 percent per 1 square meter compared with the same period in 2009, according to the report of the State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre of Armenia.
According to the Cadastre, in the first six months of 2010 in the capital of Armenia, more than 3,700 apartments were sold, which is 33.8 percent higher than the same period in 2009.
According to official data, the average market price for 1 square meter of living space in Yerevan (except in the area of Nork-Marash) in the reporting period amounted to 275,700 dram, or $755.
The highest prices for apartments are found in the heart of the capital, where the price of 1 square meter of living space in January-June cost 471,400 dram or $1,291. In Yerevan’s outskirt community Nubarashen, prices fetch 144,700 dram or about $400, per square meter.
