Aronyan Takes Second Place in Chess Super-Tournament

YEREVAN (Novosti-Armenia), February 19—Armenian chessmaster Levon Aronyan has taken second place in the Chess Super-Tournament in Linares, Spain, the official site of the tournament informs.
Aronyan called a draw with Boris Gelfand (Israel) in the fifth round of the Linares tournament. All five games played by Aronyan on this tournament ended in draws.
In the other games of the fifth round Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria) beat Alexander Grischuk (Russia) with white chess pieces, and Vugar Gashimov (Azerbaijan), who was playing with black pieces, beat Vallejo Pons (Spain).
Standings:
1. Veselin Topalov – 3.5
2. Levon Aronyan – 2.5
3. Vugar Gashimov – 2.5
4. Alexander Grischuk – 2.5
5. Boris Gelfand – 2
6. Vallejo Pons – 2
In the sixth round Aronyan is going to play black pieces against Gashimov.
