Distance Learning Measure Approved by Armenian Government

YEREVAN (ARKA), February 12—On Thursday the Armenian government approved the measure for higher and post-graduate distance learning in Armenia. Armen Ashotyan, Armenian Minister of Education and Sciences, said that the measure allows for investing in high technologies in the spheres of education and online learning.

“It will assist in the creation of a new culture and increase the quality of education,” Ashotyan said.

Distance learning allows citizens and representatives of the Armenian Diaspora to get higher education regardless of age, place of residence and education.

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said that the introduction of distance learning was discussed with all interested parties.

Private higher institutions can also use this system. Recently Sargsyan met with the rectors of private higher institutions who were interested in the issue of state policy of private institutions. The Armenian government creates equal opportunities for all higher institutions in Armenia.
