Wine and Spirits Production Increases in Armenia

YEREVAN, August 5–Cognac production in Armenia in January to June increased by 38.2 percent compared with the same period in 2009, according to the National Statistical Service of Armenia.

A  32.3 percent growth in wine production for the first six months of this year was also reported. The production of sparkling wine also went up 40.3 percent.

Vodka production, however, decreased this year by 26.1 percent in the first six months compared with the same period in 2009. A decrease was also registered in the production of other liquors at 26.2 percent.
