US Deputy Secretary of State Visits Armenia, Georgia

YEREVAN (Golos Armenii)–On February 4 James Steinberg met with the President of Armenia Serge Sarkisian and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Eduard Nalbandian in Yerevan. They discussed the normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations, which Steinberg stressed as being “very important.”
On February 5 the American diplomat visited Tbilisi to meet the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili and the representatives of the Georgia opposition.
After his visits to Armenia and Georgia, Steinberg will leave for Munich to take part in the Security Conference on February 5.
There Steinberg will hold meetings with the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoğlu.
