Armenian Nominal Median Wages Rose by 9.5 Percent in December

YEREVAN (ARKA), February 4–Armenian nominal median wages last December rose by 9.5 percent year-on-year to 131,850 dram, or $347. According to the Armenian National Statistical Service, the median wage in December grew by 27.5 percent from the preceding month, when it was 103,403 dram.

The highest median wage in December was in the southern province of Syunik at 111,559 dram and the lowest was in Vayots Dzor at 76,321 dram. The median nominal wage in Yerevan was 115,073 dram.

The financial sector boasted the highest median salary of 268,928 dram, followed by the mining sector at 181,170 dram. The average salary in the construction sector was 130,887 dram. The lowest paid jobs were in the fishing (56,556 dram), health (66,375 dram) and municipal services (69,317 dram) industries.
