YEREVAN, May 30 – «I don`t think the Armenian initiative is dead», said the Turkish President Abdullah Gul on a plane returning from his 10-day visit to the US.
Both Turkey and the region need to save themselves from the dispute. The issue is being worked on, both civilian and official organizations were given assignments in this regard. The status quo is not helping Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Turkish Today`s Zaman quoted the President as saying.
Gul stressed that their delegation had a warm welcome in the state of Californa, known to be inhabited by a large number of Armenians. No negative incidents were reported. «San Francisco high officials of Armenian descent have greeted us warmly and told they were very pleased by our visit», told the Turkish President to journalists
