OSCE To Assist Reforms In RA Police

YEREVAN, April 13 – “The OSCE Yerevan Office is ready to facilitate reforms in RA Police”, stated the head of the Office Andrey Sorokin during “On the threshold of the elections” round-table discussion held in Yerevan today.
Representatives of RA Police, Prosecutor’s Office and other interested departments as well as international organizations, diplomatic missions and political powers participated in a round-table discussions organized by the OSCE Yerevan Office.
“I believe and hope this event will help to keep a large mass of the population informed about their rights and responsibilities”, noted Sorokin. He ascertained the progress in the work aimed at increasing transparency of Police activities in the Republic of Armenia. The work in this direction is being continued with the participation of European experts.
Earlier this year EU and OSCE Yerevan Office launched a project (estimated at 17.6 mln. euro ) facilitating transparent and free Parliamentary (2012) and Presidential (2013) elections in the Republic of Armenia.
