Armenia To Deepen Relations With Georgia

YEREVAN (Novosti-Armenia), January 27–Armenia considers Georgia to be a brotherly and friendly country and is ready to deepen relations with it, the president of Armenia Serge Sarkisian said on Tuesday at a meeting with the prime minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri.
“We are good neighbors and we should communicate often and discuss all the questions that arise sometimes. The quality and level of our cooperation simply oblige us to mention these questions along the way every day,” President Sarkisian said in a press release.
In his turn, the Prime Minister Gilauri said that the president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, sent his best regards to President Sarkisian and invited him to visit Georgia. “Our countries have developed the best brotherly relations,” he said.
The head of the Armenian state inquired about the bilateral intergovernmental commission. The prime minister of Georgia said that the eighth session of the commission was rather productive and a number of questions, social programs and other projects were discussed. They managed to reach an agreement on nearly all of the discussed questions. He also informed that the next session of the commission will take place in Georgia.
The president and the prime minister also exchanged opinions concerning the economic situation in both countries and the undertaken anti-recessionary actions. They also discussed a number of regional questions.
