By Adonia Agayan
YEREVAN, March 2 – The Armenian husband in Yerevan forced his wife into working as a prostitute continuously for several years and used to take away the money ‘raised’ by the wife. As the press-office of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Armenia reports, the woman gave a statement to the police saying the husband had occasionally battered her and forced into prostitution.
On the basis of the received information, a case was prosecuted in correspondence to the first part of Article 132 of the RA Criminal Code (trafficking of people, illegal transfer for the aim of prostitution or other sexual exploitation as well as forced labor or service). The criminal case is submitted to the Investigative Headquarters.
