YEREVAN February 20 — The Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Argentina Vladimir Karmirshalyan met Mauricio Macri, the Head of Buenos Aires Government. At the meeting the Ambassador handed on to Mauricio Macri an official invitation to the anniversary events to be held in Yerevan on April 22-23. The events will be dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Armenian book printing as well as to the proclamation of Yerevan as the 2012 world book capital.
The Head of Buenos Aires Government gratefully accepted the invitation and noted that the visit of the Buenos Aires delegation to Yerevan will serve as a good stimulus to strengthen cooperation between two sister cities.
Until April 21 Buenos Aires will remain the world book capital. In regard to this, Vladimir Karmirshalyan and Mauricio Macri stressed the fact that for the first time the ceremony of the honorable title transfer from one city to another will be held in such solemn atmosphere – under the high aegis of Armenian President Serge Sarkisian and the participation of both cities.
