YEREVAN, January 25 — At the meeting with Iranian Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia Seyed Ali Saghayan Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan highlighted the significance of the current level of Armenian-Iranian relations and bilateral partnership.

The mayor noted that Armenian and Iranian autonomous bodies have registered a long and successful cooperation, which should be at most expanded and strengthened by implementing specific programs.

“Yerevan mayor’s office cooperates with the mayor’s offices of Esfahan, Shiraz, Tabriz and Tehran. We are ready to cooperate and discuss the implementation of joint programs in various spheres of municipal services and through that strengthen amicable and partnership relations between Yerevan and different cities of Iran,” the mayor said.

In his turn, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia underlined the importance of expanding and developing partnership and cooperation as well as exchanging experience in the sphere of transport, municipal waste processing and green space arrangement.

The Ambassador suggested that they discuss programs concerning tourism development as well.
